My Sixth Photo

So... I haven't blogged in awhile. My mom is doing fine with her ankle in a cast, so I can't blame that...

I guess I'm just sorta out of things to say...

But, I've been inspired once again by the very person that talked me into this whole blogging thing... Ruth at The Beautiful Life. She tagged me to blog about the 6th photo I ever published on Blogger. I went to the very bottom of my blog archives, worked my way forward, and came up with this...

~Now, a few thoughts... first of all, how over-processed can hair get???? I naturally have very dark brown hair... this photo makes me laugh... but I am only trying to cover the gray!

~Another thought is how much I miss those earrings. They were cz hoops, and I wore them almost everyday for years (when I find what I like, I tend to stick with it... that rectangular silver ring on my right hand was bought in New York 9 years ago, and I wear it almost everyday). I took those earrings off one night, laid them on the coffee table, the dog got one, and well... the rest is history. I have searched for 2 years, and am still searching for a replacement pair. *sigh*

~Another thought I have is how cool that jacket I'm wearing is. I got it at Marshall's one day for about $15. Gotta love that.

~I am also thinking about that cold, wintery afternoon when I was eating that crepe. The wind was often biting cold, and the crepes just steam in your hand, and you can't help but take a bite way before you should.

~My final thought on this photo... and the post that went with it, (Dreams Are Made to be Followed) has rather cool timing. The post was about following your heart and your dreams, and not to let anyone talk you out of them...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

Now is the time to admit to you, that even though I told you a few posts back that my husband I were returning to Europe in the fall, and would NOT be visiting Paris... well... our dreams continue to only be fulfilled in ONE place... we just made our reservations for 10 days in September.

Here's the apartment we will be staying in this fall.

Isn't that the chicest place you've ever seen?????? BONUS... for the first time, after four different apartments, we will have a door to the bedroom. We may never even shut it, but just the thought of a door, makes us feel oh, so, special~

Yes, some of our friends and family have rolled their eyes when they found out we were once again returning to Paris. I don't know why they are surprised, when we keep telling them we are going to live there someday. Maybe just in our dreams, but hey, they are "our" dreams afterall!

C'est la vie!

Yippee skippy! how fun. THe apartment is very chic! I will not make it to Paris for a long while, but I can't wait to hear about your adventures. And I am glad y'all love Paris so much that you want to know her better, why does that have to be explained? You know, we have family and friends in these parts that wonder each time we pick an overseas spot, but I know some of them that park themselves for a week at the same lake spot each year for vacation. It is the same thing. Well thanks for sharing and I am very excited for you both....might you do another postcard contest...count me in!

You are not only "following" your dreams, but you are "living" them -- and living them with such passion, love, and adventure.
You've caused me to stop and ponder some things ... I think it's about time I do a little more dreaming in my life ... :)

You keep me smiling and inspired.
Thank you for that.
Diane

WWWWOOOOOWWWWW! That apartment! SHUT UP! Puhleeeze! I would never come home if i had that place! And now come to think of it, you might not come home! :)

You hair in the picture -- I LOVE IT!!! You really can pull off the lighter hair. I really do like it.

As for the serendipity of what the post was about that contained your 6th photo --- wow, that is just so amazing. Funny how that works out, huh??? :)

Teri,
The chic apt. is just so you, you know - black and white. Remember one person's rut is another person's paradise! I'm glad you get to go again and Lexi and I will keep everything up and running here at home.
If I still have a cast this time she can drive!

OMG this comment "Alot of the people that roll their eyes never go ANYWHERE...go figure!" is the best comment I've ever heard and I am so going to steal it! The apartment is amazing you found, I might have to inquire as to where it is so when my sister and I go we can stay there! Yea for you and your hubby!

I so hate it when I have a favorite pair of earrings and I lose them. I sure hope you find another pair sometime!

Jealous! That apartment is very chic indeed. What area is it in? I think renting an apt over there is def. the way to go. I know my husband and I miss out little apt that we rented while we were there in Oct. I think of it as being my little Pottery Barn home that I will come back to sooner than later!

What fun! Mike and I tend to love Florence like that. I would love to know more about how you find your places, do you use a travel agent or have a favorite web site? I think half the fun is the all the planning. I'm really happy for you to LIVE your dreams. Next time you come to Texas, Virginia and you and I are going to have to meet up again! It surely is a sweet place to see how well you are doing after all the years. Hugs, Annette

Teri,
You are a girl after my own heart. No one understands why I keep going back and back to Paris after all these years, but there is a magnetism in that city of beauty that keeps drawing me back. Maybe, just maybe we can cross paths there in the fall--Mike and I definitely need to get back over for a long weekend.

Enjoy the planning....

Hello, I just read you comment on
myletterstoemily that you read
"The Plain Truth" I also loved that book, but I love almost all of Jodi Picoult's books. That one has been one of my favorites though.

Your blog is beautiful! Isn't amazing the memories that are chronicled in blogs, even in a short time. I love that.

Have a wonderful day,
Joyce

Oh...I love that apartment! That's going to be so nice to stay in and especially in Paris! I've always had a dream to live in Hawaii and I'm never going to give up on it. I just have to wait for the right time.
About those earrings- have you tried qvc.com? They have a lot of cz jewelry. Take care! Jennifer:)
