French Girls/American Girls

Cultural Differences...

Last summer, we had the privilege of welcoming a French girl, Clara, into our home for 3 weeks.  It was an amazing experience, and we have since met and become fast friends with her family, and even stayed with them last fall in Marseille, a beautiful city right on the Mediterranean Sea.

Don’t fret...blog posts coming soon!

Clara and my daughter Lexi are the same age, about the same size, and both love clothes and music.  However, after 3 weeks, we noticed many differences.  Here are just a few...

French girls at the beach...

American girls at the beach...

French girls hanging out...

American girls hanging out...

Yet, despite the differences, these girls love each other's countries.

French girls love America...

American girls love France...

How sweet is that???

What a fun post, Teri!!

But you know I am going to challenge you on something you said in your post -- when referring to the beach picture.... "Oh to be young and thin again..." RRRRIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT.... Teri, you are one of the teeny tiniest gals I know! So be quiet about "being young and thin again...." ! YOU are the reason I feel like "Amazon woman" next to you any time we're together!! HAHA!!! :)

Looking forward to the next post!

Hi Teri!

I loved seeing the differences between the girls. I have to say I probably would fit right in with the French girls at the beach. I have always dreaded bikini season! Looking forward to the next post.

BTW I just started my blog. I would love to add you to my blog list, if you don't mind?

Enjoy your weekend.

Love these pictures and this post. I really like the picture of the French girls at the beach, that's how I dress for the beach too.

How nice to host an exchange student, it is always good to be exposed to different cultures. And now you have some friends in France. Did you like Marseille, I have never been?

Marseille was fabulous. So different from Paris, but it had it's own charm. It was warm and sunny, where Paris can tend to be a bit cool and dreary, at least in the fall.

It was such a gift to spend 2 days with Clara's parents. We learned a lot about them, and I think we showed them a side of America they didn't expect.

If we ever do another trip to the south of France, Marseille will be on the list of must go places.

Great post. Love the way you showed the differences in girls that are still so much alike.

The American girls on the beach should be a postcard. Love it!

The picture of the French girls on the beach is my favorite. I couldn't stop laughing. The other picture of them looks like an ad in a magazine. They are so stylish and cool.

I saw the link to this on your latest post and enjoyed reading it - I never had the pleasure to spend time with French girls at the beach, but when I was in Paris I noted A LOT of differences between french and british girls on nights out - mainly the clothes! It's beautiful how french girls can make jeans and tops with flat ballet pumps look so good still on nights out, and different to the way they wear it in the day time - maybe the straight up and down bodies helps?!
