Something is Missing...

Ever feel like something is missing...
something's not quite right?

You wake up in the morning with a general feeling that something is off...
then it hits you again...
whatever the problem is.
Could be a wayward child...
unpaid bills...
a loss of some kind...
or a loved one in pain...
could even be you are the one in pain.

I wake up like this sometimes, well, most times lately.
I simply get up, shake it off, and go on about my day.
Everyone seems to think I'm holding all my feelings inside.
A friend even told me I was being mysterious...
obviously she doesn't read my blog...
out there for the world...
or at least for the ones that read regularly.

What do people want me to do?
Talk about cancer 24/7?
Tell them I'm afraid?
Tell them I cry myself to sleep every night?
Even if these things were true...
why in a million years would I burden them with it?
Doesn't seem right, or productive.

We've been going through this on some level for three years, and someday I'm going to do a post about what I've learned from this experience...on how really to help someone going through a difficult time.  It's taught me what really matters when people reach out to you...
what really helps.

Truth is... even with all that's going on with us,
I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
I found my soulmate...
My best friend...

 When I think about that...
there's nothing much else to say.

Is it really that simple?

Probably not...

So anyway,
here's the update I promised a few posts ago.
I think I've told you most of this, but I honestly can't remember.

Thanks friends!
~Teri

Well, it looks like i'm first. This is a fantastic post. You are able to find joy in the midst of "the situation!" I am so very proud of you and I want the world, the blog world, to hear me say that. You are an inspiration to me and I am amazed how much I learn everyday from, my little girl.
I love you,

Teri, you ROCK! You AND Scott! Thank you for this update!! Since not being in class with you guys on Sundays, I am feeling SOOOOOOO outta the loop! So I really appreciate any updates.

You guys ALWAYS make ANYTHING fun... just look at the videos from Paris -- no matter how daunting something is, you guys make it look like a fun adventure.

Give Scott a hug for us -- then give yourself a big one, too.

This is Ruth, signing off from the TBL situation room... ;)

You humble me--such an amazing way to fight this battle with your faith and upbeat attitude. I think there are many, including me, who would love to see you post about the best ways friends can help when you are in a situation like yours. May god pour out His mercies on you both.

I adore seeing your smile....

Dear Friend,

You're amazing. Together you and Scott are strong. What a blessing you are to each other. When you told your "situation" room story, I couldn't help but picture you and Scott in my mind's eye in the hospital room and smile -- side by side ... a team .... husband and wife -- this is LOVE. You and Scott exemplify the true meaning and depth of the word and give the world a fresh, colorful, crisp, and zoomed-in picture of what marriage should be. Scott, you're such an awesome husband to your sweet wife. I love you both so much.

Love you Teri. Y'all are so funny and in dealing with the "situation" there is nothing like sweet inside jokes. Your mom is right on in her encouragement. Much love to you,Scott, and your family.

Terri, you are an inspiration to many as you walk through tough, tough days. You have a beautiful faith in Christ that protects, shields and comforts. I'm so glad to get to know you all over again 30 years later. Sending love.

Both of you in hospital beds and 'who is the patient?' could give rise to many comedy sketches.

Appreciate your taking the time to relay the latest. Yes, I know everybody reacts differently, but a guideline on how to help, how to stand back, how and when to jump in to support someone with any serious condition would be a valuable tool.

As always, prayers for your family
