A Princess Is Born

Things are a little crazy around our house.  We have started daily radiation for Scott, and in the middle of it, he gets the flu!  When it rains it pours.

Here are the promised photos from my granddaughter's birthday.  We took her to Downtown Disney to the
Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boutique.

Hope you enjoy!

Her birthday dinner the night before...Fairyland.

Even a princess can love Buzz Lightyear!

The Paris dress...

The next day...

Before...

Leila was chosen to be made up in the front window!
The transformation begins...

Here comes the hairpiece...

Make-up, sparkles, and fairy dust...

Here's my mom and I watching through the window. Lexi is watching from inside. Little brother Luke is in the stroller.

Almost finished...she has not seen  herself yet...

Seeing herself for the first time... how precious when a little girl figures out that they really are a princess and that dreams really do come true!

Taking part in the Princess Parade...

The king and queen with their princess...

The cover of the next Disney Magazine!  Yea...I think so!

Have an especially princess-y day!

She is darling. What a wonderful memory for not only the Princess, but her loyal subjects!
Teri, I want you to know that I pray for your Scott, and for you to be his strength. It was just 19 years ago this week that I lost my husband to a particularly virulent form of cancer. He was 49. I understand how hard it is for your Scott, but I also remember how hard it was for me to hold it together. We had a 14 year old daughter. I pray that you will be able to keep your humor and positive outlook, and that his doctors are guided to provide all that is necessary to defeat his cancer.

Dreams really do come true for girls who live near the Disney make-over shop! Hope to do that with Miss Jordan some day. I can tell everyone had a fantastic time! I bought Jordan the little Paris pants set out of the same fabric as Leila's dress--Dillard's was calling my name. Wish we could get the two of them together to play and for a photo!

I'm all about believing dreams really do come true -- and you did that for your little "princess" this birthday! I absolutely love, love, love the photo where she sees herself after the make-over. Her eyes are twinkling and her face is aglow -- the expression says ... I really am a Princess! (a beautiful one at that!) This post has made me smile from ear to ear and even brought a little tear to my eye because she's just incredibly precious and growing up so fast. Thanks for sharing.

What a magical day for a pretty little girl. The Paris dress looks adorable on her; I bet she loves it. I hope she always feels as special as she must have that day.

The flu is no fun, and certainly not what Scott needed right now. Hope he gets over that soon. Y'all remain in our prayers.
