One evening, Scott and I were roaming around our neighborhood...
Paris is most beautiful at sunset. The lighting is just so unreal. Everyone looks good this time of day... Paris changes completely... it's magical.
We were walking aimlessly up and down the hills of Montmartre, and came across this little gem, a restaurant hidden in the trees.
We were there way too early for dinner, but we vowed to one day return to this spot, and eat. We were talking about it the other night, and today, I decided to google it from the sign at the entrance (thank goodness I took a picture... I had no idea the name of the place or the street we were on).
I found their website... and oh, I'm all in (just emailed Scott the link at work... my phone should ring any minute). I don't know if we'll do lunch or dinner, inside or out. I love to eat outside, but the inside is so French modern, and crowded. I feel like we must experience it...we must rub elbows with the "cool, international" people.
Oh my goodness, what to wear????
How about ordering the Degustation {tasting menu}: two starters, one fish, one meat, one dessert... that would be a "splurge moment" don't you think? Can you imagine eating dinner and not hearing English for the entire meal...
be still my heart!
I think I'll order Opera cake w/ ice cream... just sounds heavenly.

Here is the website... if you have a moment, click through the Image Gallery (bottom...photo 12 especially).
Be sure and take the one minute Video Tour.
Don't you just LOVE the French language???

Okay, I want to go. Next year that may be the plan. I always remember places by the food. It sounds like you do too.
Happy dreaming! You and Scott should write a travel column for the local paper. They are always wanting good articles. Yours are so up close and personal.

I love the way you think girl(food plannin' and all). And yes, I love that time of day in Paris and really anywhere. When we went to Paris in '08, we stayed in the Montmatre area and were delighted with it amblin' feel. Enjoy your splurge...heck it's Paris it should all be splurge worthy. Thanks for sharing from this Paris deprived girl.
oh, it looks SO fun! you must buy one
chic new dress to wear. maybe you
could have champagne in the garden
and dinner inside.
wherever you choose, it will be romantic
and delicious.
can't wait to hear all the details afterward.
you are so smart to keep track of paris
with your camera!
How do you like staying in Montmartre? I think it's a charming area. That place looks divine. Thank goodness you took a picture of it.
Smart idea--taking a photo of places to put on your list for the next trip. Sometimes on the plane home from a trip to Paris, I make a list of what I want to do "the next time," and it makes the leaving of that enchanted city a little easier. I predict a wonderful blog coming from this dinner. I think we're doing a weekend trip there around September 18-19.

Montmartre, the Latin Quarter ... I'm dreaming of Paris too!!! Your images down memory lane beckon me to return!!! This year was our first trip .. and we packed so much into the 9 days we were there -- our next trip will be relaxed and completely unplanned... your posts really inspire me to explore Paris in an unplanned manner !! XO HHL
Just think of all the places you have yet to discover - my what work you have ahead of you.
To solve your delimna of inside or out, lunch or dinner, you will just have to dine there on multiple occasions to decide which is best.
It really is almost hidden from view. Charming, quaint, lovely, devine.
Oh my goodness, I remember passing this very restaurant when I was in Montmartre this past Spring. I know exactly where you'll be! Lovely! I did not eat there, so I'll be excited to hear about your experience. As to what to wear ...
something "black" with a touch of "red". I don't know, it just seems to fit the ambiance. You'll pull it off in whatever you wear, though, I have no doubt. Enjoy and Cheers!

Looks divine! Can't wait to hear all about it :)
IS that little area not THE BEST! You are just roaming on little teeny alleys... et voila... you look up and there is a windmill, and a terribly old haunt to boot!
We never ate there, can't wait to hear how it was.
Instead we went to the Deux Moulins... cliché perhaps but we just had to! I took a hundred photographs and the locals were laughing at me! Really it's a bit of a dump in real life and you can see how much the movie was edited to boost the color. But we just had to go and eat our sugar crumbs off the table!
